The stack turns beneath the slab inside a confined zone. Fendix installs against the soffit from the accessible side of the penetration.
The U-shaped design protects the penetration without needing the collar body to fully encircle the pipe.
A sprinkler pipe runs immediately beside the stack penetration. The slimline Fendix body fits in the available space, where a conventional circular fire collar would contact the sprinkler pipe.
The 20 mm-thick body and 15 mm-wide extending arms reduce the space needed around the penetration.
The PVC pipe changes direction almost immediately below the slab, leaving no straight pipe length for a conventional circular collar to pass over.
The open side is positioned around the pipe and the collar fixes directly to the soffit from below.
The PVC pipe sits tight to the concrete edge and passes through an existing Cougar cast-in collar. Its function in this installed configuration could not be confirmed, and the slab edge leaves no room for a conventional circular collar. A suitable compliant retrofit is therefore required.
Fendix installs from the accessible side and provides a compliant fire-stopping solution beneath the existing cast-in when the complete configuration is confirmed against RTL FA 2981.03. The pipework remains in place—avoiding reconfiguration or a bulky fire-rated bulkhead.
The floor-waste trap and pipework restrict access beneath the slab, with C-track beside the collar and a potential wall line to consider. Fendix is fitted in the space between these surrounding obstructions.

Before any collar is fitted
The bend begins at the slab face. Without a suitable tested retrofit fire collar, this type of condition can require pipework alterations or the construction of a bulkhead.
Fendix approaches the penetration from the open side, so the existing elbow can remain in place.
Confirm the complete pipe, slab, fitting and FRL configuration against RTL FA 2981.03 before installation.
