Fendix retrofits for tight penetrations.

What if an elbow or nearby service leaves almost no room?

The 20 mm-thick body, open U-shape and 15 mm-wide arms allow Fendix to fix from the accessible side without needing to fully encircle the pipe.

Elbow and surrounding structure limit access.

The stack turns beneath the slab inside a confined zone. Fendix installs against the soffit from the accessible side of the penetration.

Why a full circle is not required

The U-shaped design protects the penetration without needing the collar body to fully encircle the pipe.

A sprinkler pipe restricts clearance.

A sprinkler pipe runs immediately beside the stack penetration. The slimline Fendix body fits in the available space, where a conventional circular fire collar would contact the sprinkler pipe.

What the slim profile changes

The 20 mm-thick body and 15 mm-wide extending arms reduce the space needed around the penetration.

Installation 03Tight elbow

Elbow begins directly below the penetration.

The PVC pipe changes direction almost immediately below the slab, leaving no straight pipe length for a conventional circular collar to pass over.

Why Fendix fits

The open side is positioned around the pipe and the collar fixes directly to the soffit from below.

Before any collar is fitted

There is no straight pipe to slide a conventional collar over.

The bend begins at the slab face. Without a suitable tested retrofit fire collar, this type of condition can require pipework alterations or the construction of a bulkhead.

Fendix approaches the penetration from the open side, so the existing elbow can remain in place.

Confirm the complete pipe, slab, fitting and FRL configuration against RTL FA 2981.02 before installation.

Can Fendix be installed when an elbow is directly below the slab?

Yes, if the penetration is within the collar opening.

Does the collar need to slide over or fully encircle the pipe?

No. The open U-shaped form installs from the accessible side without needing the collar body to fully encircle the pipe.

Can Fendix be installed over standard penetrations without sockets or obstructions?

Yes. Fendix can also be installed over standard PVC-U penetrations without sockets or nearby obstructions.
